Whilst I was colouring my Gnosis PT1 photos, I met a woman called Jo. I can’t actually remember how we met but it was an immediate creative connection. Jo is an exceptionally gifted florist local to me and I hadn’t been making any other work bar Gnosis. I’d been working exclusively on that project and how to piece it together technically. By this point I don’t think I’d worked with people who I didn’t know well for well over a year. But something about Jo just clicked with me and I felt safe to start working creatively with her. I even approached a makeup artist I hadn’t worked with before. It sounds trivial I know but this was considerable for me because for the last few years I had become so insular that the thought of working with a new team really overwhelmed me and gave me a great deal of anxiety. I approached this little shoot as a way of opening up, spring was approaching, I had a new team and I wanted to push my colouring skills before I coloured the Gnosis images as I was probably a little out of practice. So I spent a great deal of time over a period of a month experimenting with colour to create these. These are very much dedicated to Jo, trust in life and the spirit of collaboration.
