I am about to join Goldsmiths as a member of the academic photography staff, so this issue is very close to my heart. Members have been sustaining an extraordinarily long period of industrial action, with many facing severe financial pressure as a result.

It feels strange to arrive at Goldsmiths as a new member of staff, stepping into a job without having gone through this incredibly difficult journey alongside the colleagues I am about to work with. I wanted to find a way to support them, and to raise some money directly for those who have been striking.

This print also has a very personal connection to Goldsmiths. The image was made in collaboration with my dear friend Michelle Williams Gamaker, from a still from her film The Thieves, for which I made the production stills. It has been an honour to work with Michelle on her films over the past decade. She is a Professor of Fine Art at Goldsmiths and has been tirelessly taking part in the strike throughout this dispute.

There are seven prints available for £100 each, in black-and-white ink.

Each is an original hand-printed etching, individually inked and printed by me on Fabriano paper. The printed image itself measures approximately 6 × 4 inches, while the surrounding paper varies in size from print to print and can easily be cut down for framing. Because each has been printed entirely by hand, every one is slightly different and completely individual. This is a genuine piece of handmade art, created using traditional printmaking processes, that will last a lifetime.
